Alumni Directory Project

The University of South Carolina Alumni Association is proud to be working with PCI (Publishing Concepts, Inc.) on our first alumni directory project since 2010! Over the past decade, South Carolina's alumni population has grown exponentially. With thousands of new Gamecocks joining our family, we felt like it was time to reach out, update your information, and publish an alumni directory that we can all be proud of.

Thank you for your support. Forever to thee!

I received an email/postcard/phone call asking for information. Is this legitimate?

Yes! Your Alumni Association has partnered with PCI (also known as Publishing Concepts) to produce our 2020 alumni directory, the first in a decade.

PCI is a company located in Dallas, Texas that publishes directories for educational institutions, fraternities, sororities, and military organizations across the nation. This project allows our Association to receive important updates to our database so we can:

  • Better understand the career impact of South Carolina in our state and beyond.
  • Have the information we need to connect students and alumni for networking, events, and leadership.
  • Provide alumni with an accurate, timeless, and tangible keepsake to remember your time at South Carolina.
  • Grow our membership base so that we can better support our 50 local clubs, affinity groups, student programs, and so much more.

PCI has worked with hundreds of major alumni associations in its three generations of business, including South Carolina in 2010. We spoke with dozens of trustworthy contacts at major associations who endorsed PCI and noted the success of their projects. We are confident that PCI's team will provide an exceptional experience as you update your information.

You can find out more information about PCI on their website:

I do not want to participate in this project. How do I opt-out?

First and foremost, we made sure to respect your current opt-out preferences before launching the project. If you are already opted-out, you should not be contacted. If you were contacted in error, please inform us of the mistake and we will update our database.

If you wish to opt-out of the project, you may:

Does the Alumni Association benefit from this at all?

We do! Talking to our SEC peers, we learned that directory projects are extremely helpful for our operations. In fact, South Carolina is one of only a few associations in the SEC that has not conducted a directory project in the past decade.

Directory projects help in a few different ways:

  • Updated Information – Allows us to effectively communicate with and engage alumni
  • Legacy – Preserves the history of our school
  • Revenue – Generate non-dues revenue for alumni programs (as a nonprofit, this is important to us)
  • Pride – Wearing apparel shows support and love for our school

How do I know my information will only be used for directory purposes?

We take data security and your privacy very seriously. The University of South Carolina Alumni Association has a contractual agreement with PCI that states:

  • The names, addresses and information provided to PCI by University of South Carolina Alumni Association for the publication of the Directory will be held confidential by PCI, except to the extent that they are utilized in, or in the preparation of, the Directory and except as required by court order or law.
  • The Directory will be made available only to alumni of University of South Carolina. Upon completion of the project, PCI will return to University of South Carolina Alumni Association any and all electronic files that have been supplied by University of South Carolina Alumni Association or produced by PCI in connection with the production of the Directory.

In short, PCI is a publishing company and has no vested interested in collecting or selling alumni data.

I would like to verify and update my information. How may I do this?

Great! We are glad to have you participate in the project.

If you have received a postcard or an email with a telephone number, you may call the number to speak with a dedicated representative for the University of South Carolina Alumni Association project. The representative will verify all the information we have on file for you and make any updates where needed.

If you have received an email with an embedded link, you may go to the online site to review your information. If you have questions, you may call PCI’s customer service desk at (800) 982-1590.

Can anyone purchase a directory?

No. The University of South Carolina Alumni Association Directory is available for sale only to alumni. The Alumni Association is also not selling the directories. If you would like to purchase a directory, please contact PCI at 1.800.982.1590

When will I receive my directory?

The total duration of the directory project is about 12 months. Since we began the project in February 2020, the directories will be distributed in February 2021.

Can I choose some or all of my information not to be printed in the directory?

Absolutely! Your data is yours, and we want to make sure we respect that when it comes time to publish.

When you call to update your information, you can tell the representative what information you prefer to have excluded. You may communicate this information to the PCI customer service desk at 1.800.982.1590 or to the Alumni Association directly.

I ordered a directory/package over the phone and would like to cancel my order. How do I do this?

Please call the PCI customer service help desk at 1.800.982.1590 and they will take care of this for you.

We ask that you do not call the Alumni Association directly for questions regarding your order. While we always love to help our fellow Gamecocks, we have no ability to modify, cancel, or place orders for you.

Thank you for your support, Gamecocks!
