Alumnus to be promoted to rank of Colonel

United States Army Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Freeman “Terrill” Bonnette of Saint Matthews, South Carolina, will be promoted to the rank of Colonel March 1.

Lieutenant Colonel Promotable Bonnette is a Strategic Integrator for the Synthetic Training Environment (STE) at the Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation, (PEO STRI) in Orlando, Florida. He enlisted in the Army following graduation from Calhoun County High School in 1992.  

He received his commissioned as Field Artillery Officer from the University of South Carolina in 1998 and is also a 2003 graduate of the University of Oklahoma. 

He is married to the former Kimberly Foddrell of Yonkers, New York. They have two children, Byron (21) and Cameron (19). His parents are Freeman (Deceased) and Ruthann Keller Bonnette both of Saint Matthews, South Carolina. He has two siblings, Chief Warrant Officer 2 (CW2) Promotable Antonio L. Bonnette of Joint Base San Antonio, TX and Christopher J. Bonnette of Columbia, SC. 

LTC Bonnette is a 29-year Army veteran and Bronze Star recipient with multiple command and combat tours. He is Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement (DAWIA) Level III certified in Program Management, Contracting, and Information Technology. He is a 6Z-Strategist, trained Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Certified Agile SCRUM Master and member of the United States Acquisition Corps. He will attend the United States Army’s Senior Service (War) College in Carlisle Barracks, PA this summer.
