For Montgomery Green, going to the University of South Carolina was a no-brainer. Everyone in her family has a degree from UofSC.
Green received her bachelor’s at the College of Pharmacy, knowing she wanted to teach other students. Currently, Green is in her 12th year teaching pharmacy students at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. Her focus area is internal medicine and antimicrobial stewardship.
Outside of the classroom, Green accomplished her greatest achievement, developing the Middle Tennessee Antimicrobial Stewardship Symposium. The Symposium was born out of a desire to gather practitioners in the Middle Tennessee area together to discuss various initiatives and challenges surrounding antimicrobial stewardship and learn from each other about new and innovative ways to meet those challenges.
While Green may have moved away from South Carolina, she can still fondly remember walking across campus and grabbing a Daily Gamecock newspaper on the way to class each day.
